Dr. Brandon S. Ito is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Director of Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion at the UCLA Tarjan Center. He completed medical school at the UC Irvine College of Medicine, masters in public health from the Harvard University School of Public Health, residency training at UC San Francisco, and child and adolescent fellowship training at NYU and Bellevue Hospital. His clinical and academic roles include inpatient attending at the UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, attending supervisor in the UCLA Child & Adult Neurodevelopmental Clinic, behavioral health provider in the UCLA Gender Health Program, Clerkship Chair of Psychiatry and Educator for Excellence at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. He is currently the President of the Southern California Society of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and received awards including the Gold Humanism Honor Society Award, Department of Psychiatry Faculty Housestaff Teaching Award, and The Kaiser-Permanente Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Ito’s passions include LGBTQ mental health, medical education, and reducing racial and sexual/gender mental health disparities among youth.
