Perry LaRoque, PhD

Dr. Perry LaRoque is an education entrepreneur, author, and advocate for neurodiversity whose work bridges the worlds of innovation, inclusion, and personal growth. He earned his PhD in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin and began his career as a special education teacher before serving as a university professor.

Dr. LaRoque is the founder of multiple pioneering organizations that support students with diverse learning profiles. He launched Mansfield Hall, a residential college support program for students with autism and related learning differences, which now operates in Vermont, Wisconsin, and Oregon. He also launched Canopy College Coaching, a remote service for university students needing executive functioning support, and Oak & Ivy Coaching in London, a bespoke holistic coaching service for high school and college students. His ventures extend globally, from Tanglio, an app designed to build executive functioning skills, to Mirembe Words of Wisdom, a nonprofit improving literacy in East Africa.

As an author, Dr. LaRoque wrote Taking Flight: College for Students with Disabilities, Diverse Learners, and Their Families and the forthcoming Paving the Runway: Preparing Your Child with ADHD, Autism, and Learning Differences for Life Beyond High School.

Beyond his professional work, Dr. LaRoque is committed to reshaping how society understands learning differences. His philosophy is rooted in the belief that diversity in thinking, learning, and feeling is what makes us fully human.
